A little play on the phrase "pinup" with Hitagi from Bakemonogatari (a.k.a. Ghostory). It's a very engaging light novel series that combines supernatural-horror with slice-of-life-comedy/drama. I think it's no secret that I love seeing assertive, sexy women in stories and Hitagi exceeded all expectations in that regard with her witty and frank dialog. It's got me keeping an eye on other works by the same author, Nisio Isin, including Katanagatari.

Follow up:

Here we have Hitagi Senjogahara posing with a small assortment of her weapons of choice (office supplies).  This was done primarily for the New York Anime Festival, I severely overestimated how knowledgable the NYAF attendees would be about upcoming anime titles.  None the less, it was a fun piece to work on and I hope fans of the series enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. A small tribute, to a very good light novel and excellently realised animated series.

 

Part of my wants to do a short fan comic for Bakemonogatari. Maybe that will appear some time in the future.
